Co-Directors: Pat Quick and LaVerne Jessop (303-270-2231) Here it is 2009 already. Let us all plan on doing a contest activity for the next State Session! The rules are in this paper in the Handbook. Please save your copy for future use.
Baby quilts are a blessing to many new mothers in need. We received a large variety this past year that were delivered to Warren Village , where single parents write their own success stories. We delivered 40 baby quilts to them.
The book bags (52 in all) were delivered to Wheat Ridge Head Start School where there are 52 three to five year old children. We received 8 bags at State Session. Thanks to the help of Maple Grove Grangers we ended up with 52. Each child has a bag with a book in it to take home each week and the family reads it to them. They bring the book and bag back and exchange it for another.
The stamp program is on going. All stamps must have at least one-quarter inch of envelope around the stamp or we have to throw it away. All stamps that are collected are given to Miles Davies who checks them over and separates the commemorative stamps from the regular ones. Regular ones are sold by the pound and the others bring a bit more money. We thank Miles for his effort in this project.
We encourage all Grangers to participate in the Women's Activities. Our continued efforts make a difference for someone in need. Book bags are easy to make and gently used books can be picked up at garage sales or thrift stores. Campbell soup labels and Box Tops for Education coupons are also collected. Used eyeglasses are collected for people in need. . |
