Please visit the Great Plains Youth Conference website and the Colorado State Grange Youth Facebook page for updated information.
There are several programs available through the National Grange that are targeted at youth. The National Grange Youth program is designed to provide leadership training and life skills training opportunities. There are only two programs that are age specific; all programs are open to all Grange members regardless of age ... The goals of the National Grange Youth Development department include providing leadership training through a variety of opportunities such as:
Individual life skills will be developed through the Achievement Award Program which offers opportunities for exploration in Public Speaking, communication (Sign-A-Song, and Foreign Language), critical thinking, mentoring, and career exploration. Pride and knowledge will be developed in those who desire to learn more about our organization through a Current Events and Grange Trivia Challenge.
Specifically, Colorado youth will have activities as interest dictates. At a minimum, we would like to participate in the Great Plains Conference held each summer in one of the nearby states (Tulsa, Oklahoma July 17-19, 2009). In addition, the Colorado Youth open the State Grange convention on Saturday morning. Other past activities have included winter and summer getaways that have included fishing, hiking, rafting, hot springs soaking, and other fun activities.
